The commentary tracks (featuring directors, production crew and trivia experts) alone are well worth buying the special edition over the regular DVD version.

While the Mad Max series is in need of a re-release, this 2002 DVD is the most current one of any of the three films. Mel Gibson at his very best! Revenge anyone? Pass the food, snacks & drinks! Read full review Later, Max starts to pick off members of the gang one by one until he gets most of the big shots who killed his police partner, Goose, & later killed his wife & child, & his dog! Later he is chasing the bad guy who ran down his wife & child the toe cutter and he runs smack dap into a big truck & is killed immediately & he is run over by the 18 wheeler No escape for the guilty ones. And in a new special pursuit vechicle called the interceptor he tracks the gang, stalks them & runs them off the road for starters. Max is now furious, & he begins to loose his sanity & only thinks of revenge against the gang that murdered his wife dog, & child. His wife has a fatal encounter with the gang & they in cold blood run her & her child down on the road highway when her car over heats & it breaks down. Mel as Max, begins to watch,& study the Motor cycle gangs activites to learn when they are coming to town & he starts to stalk them. Then the next scene shows a tree a shot of the country's forest & a dog hanging & gutted from a tree with some very creepy eariee music that is playing in the back ground to add further suspense. In one scene of the movie, Max's wife is lying on the Australian private beach in a bikini gett ing a tan, & sleeping when their dog who is with her mistress wakes up, shakes off & goes off to find something. Hounded them, chased them,and hunted them down so now they exact revenge by stalking Max's wife & dog & child. They the gang follow Max & his family around townthe high way, back roads & they begin to terrorise them because of what the police has done to them. He & his lovely babe wife are on vacation or so they think & are enjoying their time off when they encounter a bad tempered motor cycle gang who are mad that their sick leader The Knight Rider is Dead, and now they are out for BLOOD & Vengence. MEL GIBSON, SO DAMN YOUNG & AT HIS SUPREME BEST!Ī young actor wanna by, named Mel Gibson from Austraila plays a futuristc cop chasing the bad guys becuse oil & gas are now scare & almost extinct. Max, Played by Gibson is in his patrol car waiting for any body to break the Law! I hope Mad Max 4 learns from the lessons of 2 and 3 and gets back to the basics like #1 did. The Road Warrior fizzles in comparison to #1 and thunderdome was the biggest waste of time money talent an d effort that ive seen since Smokey and the bandit 3. The Goose also suffers from this affliction. Geoff Parry would have succeeded more as an actor if he had somehow inherited his overdubb actors style and delivery. Then I saw the raw un overdubbed version and it all made sense. I used to wonder why other actors in the movie never went on to continued success like Mel did. It takes on a speed racer feel with the cartoony quality of the voice overdubbs (i.e. The american overdubbed version is far far better than the aussie version.
Perhaps its my love of vintage motorcycles and that sweet ass black ford falcon interceptor that aids in my interest. This is the only movie Ive seen more than 100 times.
